As a longtime fan of American Horror Story, I was thrilled to be assigned to Season 10, Double Feature, and Season 12 Delicate. Contributing to the show’s marketing package was a standout experience, where I assisted in translating the series’ iconic aesthetic into a range of graphic elements, helping bring Ryan Murphy’s terrifying visions to life.
ABC Supersign
Designing the Season 12 ABC Supersign was a multi-phase process that blended 2D motion design with 3D visualization.
I began with a 2D build in Adobe After Effects, using existing show package elements or designing and animating new assets tailored specifically for the Supersign. This phase also included editing the featured clips to ensure they worked seamlessly within the overall composition.
Once the 2D pass was complete, I brought the design into Cinema 4D, where I mapped it onto a mockup template and refined it in 3D space. This allowed me to create a fully realized preview of the Supersign, complete with rotating views so the design could be evaluated from all angles.
Hotel Pendry
The Hotel Pendry was an engaging design challenge that involved refining the package ID to align with the established design specifications, while also enhancing the typographic layout for clarity and visual balance. The process included thoughtfully adjusting the information hierarchy and fine-tuning the overall presentation to create a more cohesive and polished result.
Show Package
For Seasons 10 and 12, I layout typographic versions across a range of package elements for both seasons. This included adapting to the contrasting mid-season shift in AHS: Double Feature, which required rethinking and recalibrating design parameters to support two distinct visual directions. Each iteration ensured consistency across deliverables while accommodating the evolving aesthetic across various graphic elements.
